Prepare to get wet! Hiking the Narrows involves traversing the Virgin River, making it a refreshing and exhilarating adventure. We will be waist deep at times.
Zion National Park sees close to 5 million visitors a year. This means some days The Narrows can be crowded. Going with a guide will help you navigate the crowds and hike safely and comfortably. Our experienced guides provide detailed knowledge and tips for navigating the Narrows, helping you make the most of your experience. We prioritize your safety with essential information and recommendations to ensure a secure and enjoyable hike.

We strongly encourage you rent gear from Zion Outfitters to make sure you are comfortable in the cold water year round! While its not mandatory, it will definitely make your experience much easier!
The hike will take about 5-7 hours with shuttle and we have 6 people per trip.
No refund or adjustments on cancellations 60 days prior to trip. We will do our best to accommodate if you need to move trip to a new day. Please purchase travel trip insurance if you are concerned about not being able to do this trip. We are a small business and will not be able to refund or rebook any last minute cancellations. In the event NPS closes the Narrows due to high river levels, we will reschedule or fully refund you.

Distance: 2ft -10 mi. As far as you go in you must come back, no exit points
Hiking time: 10 min to 6 hrs
Best season: Spring and Fall
Difficulty: Moderate to difficult. Turn around and go back when you have at least 1/3 of your energy reserves left
Hazards: Falling rocks, Flash Floods
Pets: Not allowed
Gear
Neoprene Socks, water boots with good tread, walking sticks to prevent falls.
Walking in the Virgin River is similar to walking around on slippery, moss covered bowling balls. We STRONGLY recommend you rent Narrows gear from local outfitters. Price of the trip does not include gear rental. Gear varies depending on the season. This gear is not mandatory, but will make for a much more enjoyable experience. Please pick up your gear the night before you tour.
